Southwest Airlines Announces New Nonstop Orlando Service

Portland, ME, August 26 - Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) today released its flight schedule for March 2014 at the Portland International Jetport (PWM).

Southwest will continue to offer three daily nonstop flights each weekday to Baltimore/Washington with convenient access to over 60 cities throughout the U.S. and Caribbean.  In addition, Southwest has added a nonstop flight to Orlando on Saturday beginning on March 8, 2014.

“We have been extremely impressed by the response the local community and region have had to Southwest Airlines since they began service at PWM on April 14, 2013,” said Paul H. Bradbury, P.E. - Airport Director. “That great response to Southwest over the past five months has allowed them to begin to grow in Maine with the addition of nonstop Orlando service.”

The new nonstop Orlando flight will depart PWM at 7:05 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 10:20 a.m.   The return flight will depart out of Orlando at 9:40 a.m. and arrive back at PWM at 12:40 p.m.  All flights will be on 143-seat Boeing 737s.
