Transportation Guide
This
guide will provide you with general information about the
Ground Transportation options at the Portland International
Jetport. If you have additional questions, please call (207)

CREDIT
CARDS
Major
credit cards are accepted. Payment must be made at the Ground
Transportation booth. All transactions must be completed with
the attendant before a trip commences. A minimum charge of
$15.00 applies.
FARES
Meter
Rate
This
method is used for all travel within the Greater Portland
area. The meter rates are:
- $1.90
for the first 1/10th mile
- $
.30 for each additional 1/10th mile
- $
.40 a minute, or part thereafter, for waiting.
- Minimum fare of $5.00 or meter rate, which ever is greater.
Flat
Rate
For all travel outside the Greater Portland area, a list of
published fares is available. These
rates are approximate and based upon normal driving conditions
and must be agreed upon before the trip commences.
Split
fares
When
two or more passengers are traveling to the same location,
only one fare will be charged. However, if multiple destinations
are requested, fares will be charged separately.
OTHER
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Upon
request, other ground transportation options (limousines,
livery vehicles, luxury cars, etc.) are available. Please
see the attendant at the Ground Transportation booth.

REFUSAL
OF SERVICE
The
Ground Transportation staff will make every attempt to accommodate
your needs. Drivers may not discriminate based on race, gender,
sexual orientation, age, mobility or destination. Drivers
are required to transport a passenger unless occupied with
another customer. However, a driver is not required to transport:
- Any
intoxicated persons
- Any
disorderly persons
- Any
passenger(s) knowingly violating Federal, State or Local
laws
- Any
passenger(s) who the driver has just cause to fear bodily
harm to himself or herself, or who may cause damage to
the taxicab
SEATBELTS
Maine
State law requires all persons to wear seatbelts. Children
18 years and under are required to have child safety seats.
SMOKING
Smoking
is not permitted within the taxicab by either the driver or
passenger(s).
